Western Oregon's Best Equestrian Campgrounds
An index to the best equestrian campgrounds in southern Oregon and along the entire Oregon coast. Campers with horses and other trail animals have a variety of campgrounds across the state from which to choose. The campgrounds are listed here by the campground areas displayed on the HOME page map.
While some equestrian campgrounds only offer basic facilities, many are equipped with corrals, watering troughs, horse washing stations, and other great amenities. Some are designated for groups while others offer individual campsites.
South-Central Oregon
Willow Prairie Horse Campground
Four miles from Fish Lake. Features 19 miles for riding trails: Willow Prairie Horse Trail System. Ten large campsites, each with a corral for 2-4 horses, watering troughs.
Willow Prairie Cabin
Located next to Willow Prairie Horse Campground. Cabin site has 4 paddocks and horse troughs. Access to all the great riding trails in the area.
Grants Pass Area
Lake Selmac County Park Horse Camp
Located near the entrance to the Mallard Loop campground. Six campsites with corrals for 2, 3, or 4 horses. Water available. Hot showers and flush toilets nearby in Mallard Campground. Ride the Osprey Trail, Saddlebag Trail, and the South Mountain Loop trails.
Umpqua River
Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park Campground
(shown above in the masthead) - located off Interstate 5 northeast of Oakland on 1,100 acres of pastures, forests, and rolling hills. Fifteen equestrian sites with 1, 2, or 4-horse corrals. Water available. Extensive network of riding trails.
Deschutes National Forest
Sheep Springs Horse Camp
Located in the Metolius River Basin southeast of Mt. Jefferson. Trails connect to the Metolius-Windigo Trail. Eleven 4-horse campsites, potable water.
Graham Corral Horse Camp
Six miles northwest of Sisters. Trails connect to the Metolius-Windigo Trail. Thirteen campsites, corrals, potable water.
Whispering Pine Horse Camp
Ten miles southwest of Sisters. Access to the Sisters Wilderness. Nine campsites with corrals. No potable water.
Three Creek Meadow Horsecamp
Located near Three Creek Lake west of Bend. Part horse camp, part standard campground. Nine horse campsites, 4-horse corrals, no potable water.
Quinn Meadow Horse Camp
Five miles west of Mt. Bachelor. Many good trails. Twenty-six campsites with 2 or 4-horse corrals. Potable water.
Mt. Hood National Forest
Clackamas Lake Campground
Located near Timothy Lake and Joe Graham Horse Camp. Shared campground with standard campsites and 11 horse campsites. Many with 2-4 horse corrals. Many good connecting trails. Potable water.
Joe Graham Horse Camp
Located near Timothy Lake and Clackamas Lake. Fourteen campsites, most with corrals from 1 up to 4 horses. Trails connect to Pacific Crest Trail. Potable water.
Riley Horse Camp
located along the Sandy River northeast of Zigzag. Fourteen campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Eleven sites with corrals, other with tie stalls or hitching rails. Water for stock, manure bins. Many wonderful riding trails.
Lost Lake Campground
Five wheelchair-accessible horse campsites, each with a corral and hitching post. Miles of local trails available.
