Cape Blanco, Oregon's western-most point, is 46 miles north of Gold Beach. Cape Blanco State Park is adjacent to the Cape Blanco Lighthouse and includes the historic Hughes House and a spacious campground. The park is popular with those who want to explore Oregon's scenic coast areas, historic sites, and beautiful inland forests. Horseback riders enjoy miles of trails and the park's Horse Campsites.

Cape Blanco State Park Campground features 45 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. All of those sites have water and electric (50 amp) hook-ups. These campsites are currently first-come, first-served (walk-up), but checking the reservation website is a good idea to help plan your stay. The park also has a Group Campsite, a campsite for hikers and cyclists, and 4 cabins. Group sites and cabins may be reserved.

Cape Blanco State Park's horse camp has 8 primitive campsites designated for those with horses. The campground has 4 single-horse corrals and a pair of corrals which can accommodate 2 horses each. Seven miles of riding trails are available as well as a 150-acre open riding area.

Cape Blanco Group Camp

Cape Blanco State Park has one group tent camp area which can accommodate up to 50 people and 24 vehicles, including self-contained RVs. The site has 4 fire rings, 4 picnic tables, water spigots, and vault toilets. Campers at the group site may use the showers in the nearby main campground.

  • Tour the Cape Blanco Lighthouse and the historic Hughes House, April-October, Wednesday through Monday, 10 AM - 3:30 PM. (Closed on Tuesdays).
  • Hike on park trails through woodlands and wetlands. Enjoy wonderful ocean views.
  • Explore Cape Blanco's black sand beaches. Beach Safety Tips.
  • Visit nearby Port Orford Heads State Park and tour the Coast Guard Lifeboat Station Museum.
  • Visit Paradise Point and Tseriadun State Recreation Sites Stroll the beach and search for agates. Fish at Garrison Lake.
  • Attend the Cape Blanco Country Music Festival, usually held in late July.
  • Visit Battle Rock Park in Port Orford for scenic views from the top of the rock, tide pools, and a pristine beach.

  1. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  2. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times. At night they must be kept in a vehicle or tent.
