Bastendorff Beach Campground
Bastendorff Beach County Park is on the southern Oregon coast just off Cape Arago State Highway, 10 miles southwest of Coos Bay. In the day-use area are expansive lawns for playing softball or volleyball. Nearby are horseshoe pits and a basketball court. A unique children's playground is popular with locals as well as campers. Visitors enjoy strolling on the beach and fishing in the surf. Beach visitors should be wary of sneaker waves and dangerous rip currents.
Bastendorff Beach Campground features 99 campsites. Seventy-four of the sites have water and electric hook-ups, while the other 25 are most often used by tent campers. Bastendorff also has 2 camping cabins available ($45) and a hiker/bicyclist campsite. The campground is arranged in five loops in a mature conifer forest. Sites are well separated and plentiful foliage provides good privacy between camps.
Campsites in Loop E can be reserved for large groups. The rate for the first 10 units is $360 per night (without the shelter the rate is $320). Each additional unit is regular nightly fee.
