Whitefish Horse Camp
Whitefish Horse Camp is on the western side of Crescent Lake in the Deschutes National Forest.
The campground is designated for those with horses. Visitors to Crescent Lake enjoy trail riding, boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and mountain biking. At the north end of the lake Crescent Lake Resort has boat rentals and a restaurant. A boat launch ramp is located in the day use section of nearby Spring Campground.
Whitefish Horse Camp offers 13 single campsites and 5 double sites for campers with horses. Campsites have either double or quadruple metal corrals. Campsites can accommodate an RV, horse trailer, and perhaps another vehicle. A manure collection site is provided.
Riders enjoy nearby trails such as the Metolius-Windigo Trail leading south toward Windigo Pass.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.
