Fourbit Ford Campground
Fourbit Ford Campground is beside Fourbit Creek, 43 miles east of Medford, in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. A short driving distance from the campground are Fish Lake and Willow Lake, both popular boating and fishing destinations. Campers at Fourbit Ford appreciate its secluded location. The campground is on the site of the Old Military Road which once supplied Fort Klamath. A number of good hiking trails area nearby, including the Mt. McLoughlin Trail #3716, a 5 mile hike to the summit of the peak.
Fourbit Ford Campground has 7 campsites. A narrow access road will not accommodate vehicles longer than 30 feet. There is no potable water at the campground, but water can be obtained at nearby Whiskey Springs Campground. The Forest Service website states that all campsites are first-come, first-served, even though reservations appear to be available on Recreation.gov (see below). Most likely reservations are not available.
Directions: Reach the campground by taking Highway 62 for 16 miles northeast from Medford. Then turn on the Butte Falls - Willow Lake Road, going another 16 miles through Butte Falls onto the Butte Falls - Fish Lake Rd. Watch for campground signs and turn onto Parker Meadows Road. The campground is clearly marked.
