Tollgate Campground

Tollgate Campground is along Highway 26 in the Mt. Hood National Forest, outhwest of Mt. Hood. This conveniently located campground makes a great base for exploring all the attractions around Mt. Hood. The nearby Pioneer Bridal Trail is popular with mountain bikers. A short drive away is the trailhead for the hike to cascading Little Zigzag Falls (see photo below). A marker along the historic Oregon Trail is nearby.

Tollgate Campground has 4 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents, along with another 6 tents-only sites. One campsite is a double, accommodating up to 12 people. Mature Douglas fir and cedar provide nice shade. A few campsites still have the charming old CCC stone fireplaces with chimneys. Some highway noise is picked up in the campground, but sites along the Zigzag River enjoy the soothing sounds of the flowing water. This popular campground is often full, so reservations are recommended.
