Hoover Campground

Hoover Campground is spread among shady Douglas fir and maple trees and large ferns on the eastern arm of Detroit Lake.

The lake is popular for boating, water skiing, and fishing. In the adjacent day-use area is a long swath of shoreline with a boat launch ramp and dock. Boats may not be moored there. The Hoover Nature Trail follows the old railroad grade that passed through President Hoover's hometown. Viewing and fishing platforms are part of the campground.

Hoover Campground has 37 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Eight sites are pull-throughs. A mature conifer forest provides good shade for the campsites. Most campsites can be reserved ahead of arrival, and a few are kept as first-come, first-served sites. The campground also has a Group Campsite.
