Breitenbush Campground
Breitenbush Campground is along the Breitenbush River in the Willamette National Forest, 9 miles upstream from Detroit Lake. When water levels are safe, wading is popular in the river. Anglers fish for rainbow trout. In nearby Detroit Lake boating, water skiing, and fishing are popular. Good hiking trails are nearby.
Breitenbush Campground has 29 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. A mature conifer forest provides good shade to all the campsites. Sixteen of the sites are waterfront with nice views of the river, but none of the sites are far from the river. Five campsites, called doubles are large enough for 12 people, rather than the usual 8 people. Plants and foliage separate the campsites and provide privacy from one another.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates for some campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.
