Lake in the Woods is tucked away deep in the Umpqua National Forest, 43 miles east of Roseburg. The 4-acre Lake in the Woods (not to be confused with Lake of the Woods) is only 8 feet deep. A nearby cabin at the lake was erected in 1907. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake. Visitors to Lake in the Woods Campground often set out on hiking trails, touring nearby waterfalls.
Lake in the Woods Campground has 11 campsites. Two sites are doubles and 1 is designated for tents only. All other sites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Water at the campground has been purified with iodine.
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.
