Deer Flat Group Campground
Deer Flat Group Campground is adjacent to Horseshoe Bend Campground at a sharp bend in the North Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest. The pair of campgrounds are off Highway 138, 46 miles east of Roseburg. Visitors to the area enjoy rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing. Anglers should check Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations regarding the North Umpqua River.
Deer Flat Group Campground is accessed from within Horseshoe Bend Campground. Deer Flat has a single group camping area for up to 70 people. The campground has 9 paved spurs around a single loop, shaded by old-growth Douglas firs. The group site is on a knoll above the Horseshoe Bend Campground sites, providing good separation. If the gate is locked, obtain the key from the Horseshoe Bend Campground host.
