Waxmyrtle Campground
Waxmyrtle Campground is close to the mouth of the Siltcoos River in the Siuslaw National Forest and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, 8 miles south of Florence. Nearby Siltcoos Lake spreads over more than 3,000 acres, the largest lake along the Oregon coast. The lake is popular for fishing for bluegill, perch, catfish, along with salmon and steelhead. Hiking, OHVing, kayaking, birding are also favorite activities in the area.
Waxmyrtle Campground has 57 campsites among shorepine, huckleberry, and a variety of other coastal shrubs and conifers. Many sites have good privacy. All the campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. A 2-night minimum stay is required for reservations on weekends and 3 nights on holiday weekends.
