Gone Creek Campground
Gone Creek Campground is on the southeastern shore of 1,500-acre Timothy Lake (shown above). Gone Creek is one of 7 campgrounds around the lake operated jointly by Portland General Electric and the Forest Service.
Timothy Lake has good fishing for Kokanee, eastern brook trout, and rainbow trout. The lake is known as one of the best crawdad (crayfish) fishing spots in the state. Motorized boats are permitted with a 10 MPH speed limit. Canoes, kayaks, sailboats, and other non-motorized watercraft are often seen on the lake.
Gone Creek Campground features 49 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Mature trees provide good shade for all of the sites. Eighteen of the sites are pull-throughs. Most sites may be reserved ahead of arrival date, while some sites are kept as first-come, first-served sites.
2023 Notices: "In response to visitor feedback, we have changed select sites to a 2-week reservation window. These appear as "NR - Not Yet Released" until the reservation window opens. Other sites are still on the 6-month reservation window."
