Joseph H. Stewart Campground
Joseph H. Stewart State Recreation Area is near Lost Creek Lake, northeast of Medford. The recreation site is now managed by Jackson County. Visitors to the park enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and cycling. Evening programs are held in the summer on Friday and Saturday nights at the campground amphitheater. Stewart SRA is about 40 miles from Crater Lake National Park.
Note: "Blue-green algae blooms occur at Lost Creek Lake, most often between April and September, however can occur during any time of the year."
Joseph H. Stewart Campground has 201 campsites. Of those, 151 sites have water and electric hook-ups, and while the other 50 campsites are designated for tents or self-contained RVs. The park also has 2 Group Campsites. Among the amenities at the campground are flush toilets, hot showers, and an RV dump station.
