Indian Ridge Lookout
Indian Ridge Lookout stands atop a 30-foot tower south of Cougar Reservoir (shown above) in the Willamette National Forest. Erected in 1958 as a fire lookout, it is now offered as a Forest Service rental. Views from the lookout include the Three Sisters, Hidden Lake, and the Cascade Range to the north and south. Nearby are popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
Cabin Features
The 16 x 24-foot, 2-room cabin comes with 2 twin beds with mattresses, a sofa bed, desk, table and chairs, wood stove, and cleaning supplies. Outside is a 45-foot diameter horse corral, an outhouse, fire ring, and picnic table. Electricity, firewood and potable water are not provided.
What Guests Need to Bring
Guests need to bring their own water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. They also must supply for own bedding or sleeping bags, propane camp stove, cookware, matches, flashlights and battery operated lanterns, toilet paper, and garbage bags. If firewood is needed for the wood stove, obtain it locally to avoid bringing outside pests into the forest. Guests must clean the cabin upon departure and take everything, including garbage and food.
