Scott Lake Campground is a walk-in, tents-only campground in the Willamette National Forest, about 25 miles west of Sisters, Oregon.

The beauty of the lake attracts nature-lovers from far and wide. On clear days, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the snowcapped, volcanic peaks of the Three Sisters as they cast their reflections on the lake. Scott lake is surrounded by a forest of mountain hemlock, subalpine fir, and bear grass. Nearby trails lead into the Mt. Washington Wilderness, Hand Lake, and Benson Lake.

Scott Lake Campground has 18 walk-in, tents-only campsites. All campsites are first-come, first-served. The campground has no drinking water. Visitors must carry in their own water or filter lake water using a wilderness-type water filter. Some sites are near parking, while others require a short walk. For the best views of the mountains, choose sites 9 through 14. Sites are well-spaced. Mosquitoes can be annoying in July and August.

Key Scott Lake Campground Regulations

  1. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  2. Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
  3. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
  4. Please pack out your own garbage. There is no garbage service.
  5. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  6. Avoid problems with bears by securing food and scented items in a vehicle or other bear-proof locker.
