Charles V. Stanton Co. Park Campground
Charles V. Stanton County Park is along the South Umpqua River next to Interstate 5 in Canyonville. The campground makes a convenient overnight stopping place for those traveling Interstate 5. Although campsites are rather stark, campground and park amenities are attractive. Visitors to the park enjoy fishing, horseshoes, a swimming beach, and hiking.
Charles V. Stanton County Park Campground has 40 campsites. Half of them can accommodate self-contained RVs, trailers, and tents. The other 20 have full hook-ups. Only 1 small tent may accompany a camping unit in its site. For tents larger than those for 3-people, there is an additional $5 fee.
The campground has two group sites one for small groups ($70 per night) and another for large groups ($225 per night). Oddly, the website places the maximum occupancy of both sites at 25. The smaller site can have 3 vehicles (camping units) and the larger site 12.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.
