Boulder Creek Campground

Boulder Creek Campground is along the South Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest, 14 miles from Tiller and 37 from Canyonville. The campground makes a relaxing forest retreat. Several good hiking trails are nearby, and South Umpqua Falls are only a short drive up the road. Fishing is not permitted at this location.

Boulder Creek Campground has 7 campsites for small RVs, trailers, and tents. The sites are well-separated in a forest of mixed conifers. All 7 sites are available first-come, first-served. Campers are cautioned to watch out for poison oak. Water for the campground comes from a hand pump.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

  • Seek out the many local hiking trails.
  • Go off-road for some OHV trail riding on Beaver Creek Trail, Bunchgrass Meadows Trail, Coffin Butte Trail, and Elk Horn Trail.
  • Head out mountain biking on Beaver Creek Trail, Cow Creek Trail, Devil's Flat Trail, Maranath Trail, and others.
  • Rent a Forest Service cabin such as Acker Rock Lookout, Butler Butte Cabin, or Whiskey Camp Guard Station.
  • Experienced rock climbers, test your skills at Acker Rock or Trail Creek.
  • From Tiller Ranger Station, walk to the historic 1920's era "cupola style" fire lookout.
  • Take the scenic drive along the Myrtle Creek-Canyonville Tour Route.
  • Go swimming at Deer Lick Falls.
  • Drive out Jackson Creek Rd. to see The World's Tallest Sugar Pine Tree.
