South Beach State Park Campground
South Beach State Park is located next to the Yaquina Bay Bridge in South Newport. The park extends several miles south along the coast. Visitors to South Beach State Park find many wonderful choices for recreation. Popular activities include bike riding or jogging on the paved jetty trail (bike rentals available), horseback riding on the beach from an equestrian trailhead, and a variety of games from horseshoes to disc golf. The park offers interpretive programs, guided hikes, and junior ranger activities during the summer.
South Beach State Park Campground boasts 227 campsites with electric and water hook-ups along with another 60 tent sites and 27 yurts. RV sites are close to one another while the tent sites offer a little more separation. The yurts have decks, fire rings, lights, heating, and beds with mattresses. The campground includes a hiker/biker camp and 3 Group Campsites.
South Beach State Park Group Campsites
South Beach State Park Campground includes 3 tents-only, group campsites. Each of the group sites can accommodate up to 25 people and 6 vehicles. Each site requires a minimum of 8 people. Group sites are equipped with picnic tables and a fire pit. Portable toilets are provided at the group sites, while flush toilets and showers are about 300 yards away.
One small trailer or RV (20-foot maximum) is permitted for cooking purposes only. The group sites have no electric hook-ups and generators are not permitted.
