Raab Group Campground is beside the Collawash River, a short distance upstream from its confluence with the Clackamas River. The campground provides a nice retreat for groups that want to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Fly fishing, mountain biking, and rafting are available nearby.

Picnic tables and vault toilets are provided, but there is no drinking water. Water can be obtained 1 mile away at Two Rivers Picnic Area. No more than 4 RVs are permitted per group site. Campsites are in a dense forest of mature Douglas firs. Bushes provide privacy between campsites.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Attractions and Activities

  • Catch and release fishing for trout is allowed on the main fork of the Collawash, but the streams are closed to fishing for salmon and steelhead. (check fishing regulations for the area).
  • Seek out local dirt roads for mountain biking.
  • Rent a boat at nearby North Fork Reservoir at Get&Go Promontory Marina. They offer pontoon boats, fishing boats, row boats, kayaks, and jet skis.
  • Hike the 4-mile-long, scenic National Recreation Trail along the river from Rainbow Campground to Riverside Campground. Fish and boat in the nearby Clackamas River.
  • Bagby Hot Springs is located a short drive and hike southwest of the campground.
  • Fish for rainbow trout in North Fork Reservoir.
  • Go on a whitewater rafting adventure on the Clackamas River with Blue Sky Rafting. From just below Indian Henry campground to the North Fork Reservoir, the river is 12.5 miles of Class III-IV whitewater.
  • Explore local hiking trails.
  • Spend the day at Milo McIver State Park.
  • Head upstream to the Fish Creek Trailhead for some adventurous hiking. Hike along the Clackamas River Trail.

    1. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
    2. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
    3. Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
    4. Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
