Digit Point Campground is on the west shore of Miller Lake in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. The campground is about a 40-minute drive west of Chemult on Highway 97. Miller Lake draws visitors who like non-motorized boating, swimming, hiking and watching for wildlife. Fishing is allowed 24-hours a day at the lake. Magnificent views of Mt. Thielsen can be enjoyed from many places around the area.

Digit Point Campground has 65 first-come, first-served campsites. All but 1 designated tent site can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. A mixed conifer forest of white fir, sugar pine, white pine, and hemlock offer plenty of shade for campers. Mosquitoes can be annoying in the early and mid-summer.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Attractions and Activities

  • Fish for brown, rainbow and brook trout and Kokanee salmon 24 hours a day in Miller Lake.
  • Hike the 2.5-mile Miller Lake Trail along the shore of the lake. Also try the Maidu Lake Trail, a 4.5-mile hike to Maidu Lake.
  • Set off on an adventurous hike into the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness.
  • Go mountain biking at Corral Spring Campground, on the Miller Lake Trail, and at Scott Creek Campground.
  • Horseback riders favor the Maidu Lake Trail and other trails into the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness.
  • OHV enthusiasts often head over to Scott Creek Campground for trail riding.
  • Crater Lake and Diamond Lake are each only a little over an hour away from Miller Lake.

Key Digit Point Campground Regulations

  1. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  2. Dogs must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  3. Help avoid the spread of invasive insects by obtaining firewood locally.
  4. Campfires may only be in developed fire pits.
