Crane Prairie Campground
Crane Prairie Campground is on the northeastern shore of Crane Prairie Reservoir in the Deschutes National Forest. Fishing for trophy rainbow trout attracts many visitors to Crane Prairie Reservoir. The current record rainbow caught here is 19 pounds.
Crane Prairie Reservoir is also a popular bird watching area. Osprey, blue heron, kingfishers, bald eagles, and many other species are common at the 3,420-acre lake. A day use area and boat launch ramp are located adjacent to the campground.
Crane Prairie Campground features 146 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Among them are 6 campsites designated for tents only. Campsites are all within a couple of minutes-walk from the shore, with a few sites at lakefront. The campsites are arranged in 5 loops, each given a different color name such as red or orange. The campground includes 1 Group Campsite.
