Elkhorn Valley Campground

2024 Notice: Elkhorn Valley Campground Closed due to wildfire damage.

Elkhorn Valley Campground is by the Little North Santiam River near Mill City, 34 miles southeast of Salem. The campground is part of the Elkhorn Valley Recreation Site operated by the Bureau of Land Management. The site attracts boaters, anglers, hikers, and nature lovers. Swimming in the river during the summer is a popular draw when water levels are safe.

Elkhorn Valley Campground has 23 family campsites which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Campsites 11-23 are labeled as tents-only due to narrow roads and small parking spaces. Those sites may accommodate small RVs. All campsites are listed as riverfront, but don't take that literally.

Key Elkhorn Valley Campground Regulations

Entrance Gates are locked from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Do not operate generators during quiet hours.
Help prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally. Firewood is available for sale in the park.
Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
