Prineville Reservoir Campground is in Prineville Reservoir State Park, 51 road miles east of Bend. Situated in the high desert, the park features a 15-mile-long lake with 43 miles of shoreline. Boat ramps, a designated swim area, and an accessible fishing pier are available. Fishing is excellent for rainbow trout, bass, catfish, crappie, and crayfish.

Prineville Reservoir Campground overlooks the reservoir with 67 campsites available. Twenty-three of the sites have full hook-ups, 22 have electric and water connections, and the other 23 are tent sites with water faucets nearby. Prineville Campground also offers 5 deluxe cabins for rent. Each cabin has a bathroom and a microwave. The cabins sleep up to 6.

Reservations Available Reservations are available 6 months in advance of arrival date. New sites become available online daily at 6:00 AM.
Maximum vehicle length: up to 40 feet at some sites
Wheelchair accessible sites: #C10, C11, cabins 4 and 5, showers, and restrooms are accessible.

  • Boat moorings at the adjacent dock can be reserved.
  • Enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming in designated areas.
  • Take advantage of several launch ramps and 21 reservable boat moorings. Check the water level in the reservoir to see if it is high enough to use the ramp: Prineville Reservoir Water Level.
  • The Park is at the edge of a vast expanse of natural nighttime darkness extending into the greater part of southeast Oregon earmarked for a future International Dark Sky Reserve.
  • Enjoy star viewing from the adjacent day use area. Download the Stargazing Permit and place on dash if you want to park in the day use area.
  • Hike the 3-mile, shoreline trail to Jasper Point.

Opening and closing dates for some campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

Key Prineville Reservoir Campground Regulations

  1. Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
  2. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. No firewood may be collected in the park.
  3. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  4. Tents must fit within the designated campsite.
  5. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No use of generators during quiet hours.
